Mooresville, NC (July 23, 2013) - In the world of racing it’s a known fact that being able to drive in a number of different divisions allows the drivers the ability to diversify themselves and gain experience as well as seat time. Joey “Mooch” Mucciacciaro is one of those drivers that has broadened his racing experience by acquiring the opportunity to race with different teams and cars.
On July 27th the United Auto Racing Association (UARA) will be making a stop at Caraway Speedway for a 150 lap race with some of the greatest drivers in short track racing. “Mooch” practiced there this past week with crew chief Garrett Campbell. Garrett also races in the UARA-STARS series in the No. 12 and we can find Joey Mooch wheeling the No. 2 in the upcoming race representing Mike Calinoff Management. Practice went well for “Mooch” as he was running lap times that were comparable to pole-setters from the past. It was his first time in a UARA-type late model stock car and he didn’t hesitate to pick up the skills that resonate him with some top competitors in the division.
“It’s an honor to yet again have the chance to try something new with an amazing team. The UARA series is filled with talent and it’s highly competitive but Garrett Campbell is an honorable driver and crew chief who I look forward to working with,” says Mucciacciaro. “Practice went very smoothly and it was great to be able to bounce ideas back and forth with Garrett and gain some feedback from someone who is also driving in this division.”
Garrett Campbell stated, “Working with Joey has been a great experience thus far. He’s a really down to earth kid and has a ton of potential behind the wheel. A lot of next year is based on performance this year and I think he has what it takes to help us both in progressing through the ranks of NASCAR in the future.”
